The hugely popular ABC War on Waste TV series has more and more people wanting to know how to stop mindlessly filling their bins every week.
In the grounds surrounding the Council Chamber, demonstrations and interactive waste saving activities will take place alongside a free jumping castle so bring the kids and prepare to be inspired!
Make the most of the day and bring along your unwanted (in great condition) clothes to swap, any broken jewelry or accessories and learn how to fix them, your mismatched plastic containers & lids for a second chance to find love again in the Plastic Perfect Match tub and any glass jars (with well-fitting lids) to swap for other shapes & sizes at the Glass Jar Bar.
Inside the Chamber the 3-part TV series will screen starting at 12pm.
Our Main Stage kicks off at 11.30 sharp (not Mullum time!) with Lindsay Murray from Dingo Lane Farms explaining “What you need to consider when thinking about keeping backyard chickens”. At 1pm you will find the Honey Bee Wrap team demonstrating how to make your own bee’s wax wrap and the final talk at 3pm will provide practical information on saving energy at home. There is a talk every half hour from 11.30 – 3pm with a Q & A Panel at 1.30 to answer questions that start with “what do you use instead of….?” For a full schedule go to mullumcares.com.au.
